Two South Carolina parents have been charged with neglect after they allegedly banished their daughter to the woods for eating a Pop-Tart without permission.

James and Crystal Driggers have been arrested and face one count of unlawful neglect of a child after they allegedly forced their 14-year-old daughter to the woods as a form of punishment, according to NBC News.

The child reportedly was not allowed to enter the house for at least two days for her Pop-Tart smuggling. The girl was told not to come home for a week and that someone would bring her food at certain times.

Police reported that the girl was told to pitch a tent in the woods and was given only a roll of toilet paper, a whistle, a flashlight and a watch.

The girl’s grandmother took her in and reported her situation to police, who then discovered the girl had been sent back to the woods.

The parents could still face further charges.
