Texan council meeting interrupted after mayor fails to turn microphone off during toilet trip

A mayor in Texas was left with egg on his face after he embarrassingly left his microphone switched on during a toilet trip in the middle of a council meeting.

Attending councillors could barely contain themselves on 28 April when Mayor of Georgetown Dale Ross' toilet break was heard over the speakers of the council building’s main conference hall.

In the video, Councilwoman Rachel Johnrowe is filmed breaking out in fits of laughter as Ross is heard relieving himself over her speech about antibiotic resistance and infectious diseases.

Ross is then left red in the face after he is informed of his actions by a fellow councilman.

The video has gone viral with over one and a half million people viewing it on YouTube. Despite it being so widely viewed, Mayor Ross has yet to comment on the embarrassing incident
