The UN Secretariat building in New York is being evacuated. The reasons are unclear at the moment.

There appears to have been a fire in the building but UN security confirmed to The Independent that staff are being allowed back into the buildings.

No abnormal activity has been reported in the surrounding Turtle Bay neighbourhood.
