Video: Watch as three-legged alligator crosses golf fairway in New Orleans
Show all 4Golfers and caddies were left stunned when they were joined on the 14th hole by an unexpected visitor - a huge alligator.
Players were taking part in the Zurich Classic of New Orleans when the three-legged reptile showed up. It attracted attention after awkwardly clambering out of the water and slowly traipsing across the area near the 14th hole.
In the video, uploaded by PGA Tour, the organiser of the main men's professional golf tours, one of the commentators can be heard saying: "This is to get the guys to play a little bit faster; just put an alligator behind them."
Later, a photo surfaced on Twitter of a golf ball resting on another alligator in the water.
It seems like the creatures certainly livened up a quiet day on the course.
