More than a dozen high school students were injured when a stage collapsed during a performance of ‘Don’t Stop Believing’ in the US.

Footage captured the moment the stage at Westfield High School, Indiana, collapsed as scores of students thronged the stage in a production of the play, American Pie, on Thursday night.

Local police officer captain Charles Hollowell of Westfield Police Department, who attended the scene, said most of the injuries were minor and were being treated at a nearby hospital.

Around 75 students took part in the production, although only two dozen – all present on stage at the time of the collapse – were injured.

The dramatic footage cuts out shortly after the stage’s collapse – but the screams and shouts of students and parents can be heard.

It remains unclear what caused the stage to collapse. The principal of the school confirmed to CCN an investigation is on-going.
