A Batman fan’s ex-girlfriend has reportedly avenged her former partner by selling his treasured 'Batmobile' online after discovering he had cheated on her.

Amy Estrada from Livonia, Michigan, claims she posted the “Batmobile Nitro”, which she purchased for her ex, on Craigslist for $18,000 (£11,700) after learning another woman had paid for the car to be kitted out with Batman features and hi-tech accessories.

The car - which appears to be a modified Dodge Nitro - has a matte black paint job and is covered in Batman logos. It includes upgrades, worth up to $5,000, such as Bluetooth and a touchscreen radio that plays films.

“Since the car was in my name, I decided to repossess it from him,“ she told Fox 2 Detroit.

”I knew this was the way I could kind of just hurt him back where it counted.”

Ms Estrada posted the advert online with the title: “Cheating boyfriend thought he was Batman” and writes in the post: “I got [the car] from my ex, who turned around and got all the extras paid for by his side chick.”

“I cannot afford to keep it,” she adds, “nor do I want to look at it anymore.”

The car, which is currently parked in the street outside Ms Estrada’s house, has a note stuck to the back in which she describes her former boyfriend as a “liar and a cheater and an abuser”.

Concluding the note, she writes: “Bye 'Batman'”.

The car, which has now dropped in price to $15,000, is still for sale online. Her ex-boyfriend remains anonymous.
