Chen's brother flees from home

Chen Guangcheng's brother has fled his closely guarded village in eastern China to seek legal advice in Beijing, his lawyer said.

Chen Guangfu met his lawyer, Ding Xikui, yesterday to discuss the case of his son, Chen Kegui, Mr Ding said. Chen Kegui was accused of attempted murder following a clash with local officials after his uncle's escape in April.

Chen Guangcheng arrived in New York at the weekend in a deal between China and the US. He has expressed concern that local authorities will retaliate against his extended family.
