CCTV footage has emerged showing two pedestrians miraculously surviving a car crash at a junction in east China's Anhui Province.

The video shows a Chinese ambulance running a red light and hitting a car which then spins out of control, hitting two people standing by the side of the road.

The car can be seen trying to turn away from the ambulance at the last minute but the vehicle, which had a patient with a slight injury on board, ploughs into the side of the car.

The two bystanders are immediately hit by the out-of-control car and are sent flying into the air and roll along the ground for several feet. They suffered many fractures but survived the incident.

An investigation by the local transportation found that the ambulance was not performing an urgent task when it skipped the red light because the patient on board was not in a life-threatening condition.

The ambulance driver was fined 200 yuan and got six points deducted from his driving license.
