A man is on trial in New Zealand for allegedly pulling women’s teeth out with pliers during sex because he liked “gummy ladies”.

Philip Hansen, 56, denies 11 charges including assault and rape, the Dominion Post reported.

They involve four women through a period of more than 20 years between 1988 and 2011 in the Hutt Valley area of Wellington.

In testimony played to Wellington District Court today, one of Hansen’s alleged victims claimed he held her down in a car while removing six of her bottom teeth with a pair of pliers and throwing them out the window.

After having the rest of her teeth removed at a dentist at the defendant’s request, her wisdom teeth started coming through.

“He had a screwdriver in his hand, he then tilted my head back,” the woman said, according to the New Zealand Herald.

“After that he had grabbed the screwdriver and started digging at the back of my gums to try and get out these wisdom teeth.”

Sally Carter, speaking for the prosecution, told the court that Hansen had a “bizarre” fascination with women’s teeth and removing them and liked "gummy ladies".

The trial continues.
