New Guinness World Records

A burning man and the highest jumping llama are just a couple of new noteworthy entries from thousands going into the next edition of the Guinness World Records (GWR).

Professional stuntman Josef Toedtling, 36, took on various daring tasks, all of which involved setting himself on fire, and Caspa, from Wales, leaped 1.13 metres to claim his title of highest jump by a llama.

The 2017 GWR annual is being released this week, along with the announcement of thousands of brand new whacky and courageous records.

"It's been another outstanding year for record-breaking," said Craig Glenday, editor-in-chief at GWR.

"We've been able to pack the new book with 4,000 records, about 80 per cent of which are new.

"Probably my favourite this year is the highest jumping lama."

Sue Williams, who owns Caspa, said: “When people see how high Caspa jumps they’re absolutely amazed.

“They really just don’t expect a llama to be able to jump the height that he jumps, and the fact that he loves it. It just makes everybody smile.”

“When I watch him in action and see how happy he is I’m just such a proud mum. I really am a proud llama mummy.”

Another notable entry comes from the UK’s Harnaam Kaur, who is the youngest woman to have a full beard.

Kaur, from Slough, has a beard six inches long in places at 24 years and 282 days old. She has polycystic ovary syndrome, which causes her to grow excess facial hair.

She is a body positivity campaigner, and says her place in this year’s edition is “absolutely humbling”.

Here's a list of some of the new records:

Farthest distance pulled by a vehicle while on fire: 582 metres (Josef Toedtling, Austria)

Longest duration full body burn (without oxygen): 5 minutes 41 seconds (Josef Toedtling, Austria)
