Authorities in Yemen have released CCTV footage of Friday's suicide bomber, alleging that he faked an injury in order to conceal explosives in a fake leg cast.

Four suicide bombers attacked a pair of mosques controlled by Shia rebels in the Yemeni capital Sanaa, killing at least 137 people and wounding 345. The Badr and al-Hashoosh mosques, located across town from one another, were targeted during midday prayers on Friday.

The mosques were under the control of rebels known as Houthis, who are sworn enemies of Yemen's al-Qaeda branch.

The man carries on down the pavement before turning right. The video then cuts to moments later when a blast causes people to run away out of view of the CCTV camera.

Yemeni President Abd Rabbu Mansur Hadi has already been driven out of the capital by the rebels, with his government using Aden as a provisional capital. It is now feared that if he loses Aden, he may lose power completely and the country will plunge into civil war.

On Saturday, the Houthi (who were attacked in Friday's mosque blasts) seized control of Yemen's third largest city, Taiz, and its airport, a mere 65 miles from Aden.

The US announced this weekend that it was withdrawing its troops from the country and the UN Security Council is due to hold an emergency meeting on Yemen.
