UN hopeful on nuclear deal

The head of the UN nuclear watchdog held talks in Tehran yesterday after voicing optimism about a deal on Iran's nuclear programme.

Yukiya Amano, director-general of the International Atomic Energy Agency, met the head of Iran's nuclear energy organisation, Fereydoon Abbasi Davani, and the Foreign Minister, Ali Akbar Salehi.

Mr Amano said: "I really think this is the right time to reach agreement."
