Chelsea injury news: Diego Costa a doubt to face Stoke City on Saturday

Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho could face another game this season without leading scorer Diego Costa, who has a long-standing hamstring injury.

The striker, who 19 Premier League goals in this campaign, was forced to pull out of international duty with Spain this past fortnight, after a recurrence of his injury in the 3-2 win at Hull City on 22 March.

Ahead of the match at the Britannia Stadium this weekend, Costa has urged his team-mates to "say calm" in their hunt for the Premier League title.

"Our manager has won different leagues and knows how to manage a situation like this," he said.

"Like the great manager he is, he has told us what we need to do now, which is just to stay calm.

"He's right because everything depends on us now. We know that the Premier League is complicated.

"It's not easy so we know we have to improve. We all need to dig in and give something extra because we have this title in our hands and we can’t let it slip away."

In addition, goalkeeper Petr Cech is also a doubt with a muscle problem, as is midfielder John Obi Mikel, who has a knee injury.
