Grand National: Many Clouds and Cause of Causes the ones to watch at Aintree

Silviniaco Conti, a 10-1 shot, could also be worth a flutter on 9 April

You'd think the bookmakers are keen to do anything to avoid taking another battering from punters after paying out a record £60million at the Cheltenham Festival.

Not so the good folk of BetVictor, who must have deep pockets judging by their stand-out offer for the Crabbie’s Grand National, which takes place at Aintree on Saturday 9 April.

They are paying out on six places each-way at 1/4 of the odds for the showpiece and are also NRNB on the race, so you can punt safe in the knowledge that you’ll get your stake back if your selection fails to make the start.

At the top of BetVictor’s outright market for the race is last year’s winner Many Clouds, who is 7-1.

Next best is Silviniaco Conti (10-1), who will be aiming to give trainer Paul Nicholls his second winner in the race following his success with Neptune Collonges in 2012.

We like the look of Cause Of Causes at 14-1. He finished eighth last year and warmed up for the race by winning the Kim Muir Challenge Cup at the Cheltenham Festival.

BetVictor spokesman Charlie McCann said: “For the fifth successive year we are offering the racing punter the best value on the world’s greatest horserace; by offering six places and non-runner money back punters don’t need to go anywhere else for the best Grand National value. As authorised betting partners of British Racing we hope our great offer once again resonates with punters looking for the best Grand National value.”
