Five bowlers to watch at the Cricket World Cup

Mohammed Shami's final-over hat-trick broke Afghanistan hearts as India sealed an 11-run World Cup win at Southampton.

Mohammad Nabi's smart 52 had Afghanistan eyeing the greatest-ever World Cup upset, only for Shami to send him packing - then clean bowl Aftab Alam and Mujeeb Ur Rahman in the next two balls.

Shami's four for 40 and Jasprit Bumrah's two for 39 delivered a bowling masterclass to allow India to defend their paltry 224 for eight from their full 50 overs.

Oh what noise and celebration as Shami sends the ball crashing into the wickets and surely wraps things up for India

India beat Afghanistan by 11 runs

Agony for Afghanistan, who came so close to producing one of the biggest shocks in World Cup history.

Excellent bowling from Mujeeb and the Afghan spinners limited India to just 224 and Mohammah Nabi's 52 at the end gave the underdogs a decent chance in the final overs.

What a game.

What a performance in the finals overs from Bumrah

It certainly was not the way that India expected to today to go, but that final-over win against Afghanistan may serve them well later in the tournament.

Afghanistan deserve a huge amount of credit for looking like they may go on and win during large spells of the game.
