Ireland agree to 'makeover' before England match

Ireland's World Cup cricketers have agreed to undergo a charity makeover ahead of tomorrow's group match with England.

Members of the Irish squad will take part in 'Shave or Dye 2011', a campaign in aid of Irish Cancer Society which is bidding to raise one million euros through a number of similar events in the coming weeks.

Members of the team and management were today due to undergo the transformation at a local hair salon in the Indian city of Bangalore, with participants asked to choose between green hair dye or the rather less radical option of a shaved head.

The likes of William Porterfield, Ed Joyce, and Niall and Kevin O'Brien have opted to go with the dyed look, while Trent Johnston, Andre Botha, John Mooney and coach Phil Simmons will be subject to the barber's clippers.

Ireland face England in their second Group B outing at M Chinnaswamy Stadium tomorrow bidding to recover from the disappointment of their 27-run defeat against Bangladesh in their World Cup opener.
