Shane Warne has suffered a suspected broken hand after being hit by a Brett Lee beamer in the Rest of the World versus MCC match at Lord's.
Warne, captaining the RoW side at the home of cricket, came in at number nine in the first innings and was was rapped on the glove first ball by former Australia team-mate Lee.
He faced four more balls, scoring three not out, before the 50-over innings ended at 293 for seven but was not able to take the field with his side due to a suspected break and will not bowl.
Adam Gilchrist took over captaincy duties, with former South Africa all-rounder Shaun Pollock replacing Warne in the field.
India batsman Yuvraj Singh scored 132 in 134 balls for RoW, with England exile Kevin Pietersen making just 10 before being trapped lbw by four-wicket Saeed Ajmal.
Warne has been in the news in recent weeks due to an ongoing war of words between him and England captain Alastair Cook.
