Sir Bradley Wiggins will lead a strong Team Sky squad in the Tour of Britain which begins in Peebles near Edinburgh a week on Sunday.
The Tour de France champion and Olympic time-trial winner missed last year's race due to a stomach complaint. He said: "The crowds make it special and it's always very humbling to see the fantastic support we get from the public."
Wiggins will form part of a six-man Team Sky squad that includes two other Britons, Ian Stannard and Josh Edmondson but not last year's winner Jonathan Tiernan-Locke.
