Tottenham defender Jan Vertonghen wasted no time in celebrating Arsenal's astonishing collapse in the Champions League against Anderlecht last night, tweeting "Mitrogoal!!!" after Aleksandar Mitrovic's 90th minute equaliser in the 3-3 draw.

Arsenal would have qualified for the last 16 with a win, but it is possible that they could now fail to progress for the first time since 1999, and highly likely that they will finish second in the group behind Borussia Dortmund, who need only a point at the Emirates in a three weeks time.

Vertonghen, of course, hails from Belgium, where Anderlecht are from.

In buoyant mood, Vertonghen then retweeted the message from his Belgian team-mate, Manchester City's Vincent Kompany, who began his professional career with Anderlecht.

The Gunners are back in action at Swansea City in the Premier League on Sunday.
