Reigning Champions League holders Bayern Munich have told their own supporters not to bother requesting tickets for home fixtures, as the club have already sold them out for the rest of the season.

Munich, who sit top of the Bundesliga have seen the home ticket allocations of the state of the art, 71,000 capacity Allianz Arena sell out in ferocious fashion.

The surge for Bayern tickets initially unfolded just five days after the 2012/13 Bundesliga had finished. At the time, FC Bayern board director Jan-Christian Dreesen stated: “For each of 16 Bundesliga home fixtures, we’ve received between 80,000 and 140,000 requests for tickets,” And it didn’t take long for game number seventeen to sell out.

Whilst many will say the rush in ticket sales is down to the star power of new coach Pep Guardiola, the main contributor is the current ticket pricing in Germany.

In the 2012/13 season the cheapest adult Bayern Munich season ticket that could be purchased cost just £104. That figure acquaints to an average game costing £6.10.When you compare that to English pricing, Queens Park Rangers who finished bottom of the Premier League had charged £499 for their cheapest adult season ticket (£26 per game).

Who were getting value, the supporters of the team finishing rock bottom, or those of the side who won the treble?
