The Champions League final, the biggest game of the season, the culmination of a season’s hard work and graft and the most tense match on the European calendar. Except if your name is Stephan Lichtsteiner.

While his Juventus team-mates made their way down the stairs that lead from the Olympiastadion changing rooms to the tunnel, the Swiss defender decided to take a slightly different approach.

As the cameras panned behind the scenes, the 31-year-old right-back could be seen making his way down the escalator on his own without a care in the world.

Both sets of players had just completed their warm-ups and were kept in the tunnel for what felt like an age for the fans – but would have lasted an eternity for the players – as the pre-match ceremony continued right up until the players shook hands before kick-off.

But at least Lichtsteiner led the way in showing his Juve team-mates how to keep cool head.
