Cristiano Ronaldo looks set to become the first client of rapper Lil Wayne’s sports management company after reports claimed he is on the lookout for a representative to “handle his affairs”.

The Ballon d’Or winner didn’t enjoy the best of World Cup’s during the summer as his Portugal side were knocked out in the group stages, but he did have reason to celebrate come the end of the season after guiding Real Madrid to the tenth Champions League success in their history.

The World Cup saw football (or ‘soccer’) sweep the United States, largely thanks to the impressive showing in Brazil by Team USA, and it now seems that Ronaldo is ready to tap into that interest in order to expand the global brand that is CR7.

According to celebrity news website TMZ.com, Ronaldo will link up with his friend Lil Wayne – real name Dwayne Michael Carter Jr. – after the New Orleans rapper started his own sports management company.

Lil Wayne is known to be a keen basketball fan, leading to his decision to start up the company that will reportedly “handle Ronaldo’s sports management affairs in the United States”.

It goes on to suggest that Lil Wayne will work with PolarisSports, who has affiliations with GestiFute and CAA and work with Ronaldo’s agent Jorge Mendes.

Ronaldo appeared to give the seal of approval on the deal, as he posted a picture on his Twitter account alongside Japanese Prime Minister and other politicians performing the Young Money/Cash Money sign, made famous by Lil Wayne and those on his record label.
