Cristiano Ronaldo scored his eighth goal of the La Liga campaign as Real Madrid beat Las Palmas 3-1 at the Bernabeu.

Real, who were missing several injured regulars including Gareth Bale, Karim Benzema and James Rodriguez, took the lead when Isco raced on to Casemiro’s pass to beat Javi Varas in the Las Palmas goal in the fourth minute. Ronaldo was given room to head in a cross by Marcelo 10 minutes later, but the Canary Islands club managed to create chances of their own. Midfielder Hernan Santana scored with a header from a corner in the 38th minute.

It was the first goal Real had conceded at home in five La Liga games this season but they restored their two-goal margin five minutes later when Jese cut in from the left to score. Real host Paris St-Germain in the Champions League on Tuesday.

Borussia Dortmund’s Marco Reus scored twice for the second successive week as a 3-1 victory at Werder Bremen moved Dortmund within five points of Bayern Munich at the top of the German Bundesliga.

Juan Cuadrado, dispensed with by Chelsea, came off the bench to score three minutes into added time as Juventus beat their city rivals Torino 2-1. The Colombian slid into the box and redirected a cross from Alex Sandro seconds before the final whistle of an entertaining match at the Juventus Stadium.

It was only the fourth win in 11 matches for Juventus, who play Borussia Mönchengladbach in the Champions League on Tuesday. After a poor start to the season Borussia have won six games in a row in the Bundesliga.
