With Arsenal already assured passage into the last-16, Arsene Wenger has named a number of fringe players in his side for the final game in Champions League Group D.

The only thing the Gunners have to play for is top spot, which could mean an easier tie in the next round, but that will only happen should Anderlecht beat Borussia Dortmund.

With Arsenal hosting a resurgent Newcastle on Saturday afternoon, Arsene Wenger has opted to rest first-team stars Alexis Sanchez and Danny Welbeck in an attempt to kick-start a faltering Premier League campaign at the weekend.

Mathieu Debuchy will return from injury to play for the first time since September. Youngsters Chuba Akpom and the highly-rated Gedion Zelalem, 17, have been named among the substitutes in Istanbul and are expected to feature.

Per Mertesacker, who has been singled out for criticism for his performance against Stoke at the weekend, will captain the side.

Galatasaray are out of contention but playing for pride; the Turkish side are yet to win a game in Group D.

LINE-UPS:

Galatasaray: To follow

Arsenal: Szczesny, Debuchy, Mertesacker, Chambers, Bellerin, Oxlade-Chamberlain, Flamini, Ramsey, Campbell, Sanogo, Podolski.

Subs: Martinez, O'Connor, Kamara, Maitland-Niles, Zelalem, Iwobi, Akpom
