Aaron Ramsey: Arsenal star has not been used in his best position, claims Juventus chief

The Welsh midfielder will join the Italian giants in the summer on a free transfer and sporting director Fabio Paratici has revealed their plans to bring the best out of the player

Aaron Ramsey has not been used in his best position at Arsenal according to Juventus chief Fabio Paratici.

The Welshman has penned terms to join the Old Lady this summer on a free transfer, ending an 11-year spell in north London.

Ramsey, whose contract in Turin will run for four years, looks set to be unleashed in a new role under Massimiliano Allegri.

Fabio Paratici, sporting director for the Bianconeri, beleives Ramsey will occupt one of the ‘mezzala’ roles: either side of a holding midfielder in a three.

“Ramsey is a player who, in my opinion, has never found his position, because he has never played as a ‘mezzala’ in a three, which is his role,” Paratici told Gazzetta dello Sport.

“He’s more technical, he’s a final ball man, he has a nose for the goal.

“He is a different player from what we’ve got, we don’t have someone like him in our squad.”

The system should allow Juve to continue to allow Cristiano Ronaldo to thrive in a front three, though the balance of the side appears to be slightly off when also featuring Paulo Dybala.

Meanwhile, Ramsey has been in and out of the team under Unai Emery, but will hope to finish his time at the Emirates on a high, as they battle to finish inside the top four and win the Europa League.

An away game at BATE is first, before a free weekend due to already being eliminated in the FA Cup in the fourth round by Manchester United, with the Belarusian side facing the Gunners a week later.
