Mesut Ozil 'not consistent', says Ander Herrera ahead of Manchester United vs Arsenal

Manchester United midfielder Ander Herrera has said Arsenal playmaker Mesut Ozil is "not so consistent."

United host Arsenal in the Premier League on Sunday. The teams are both in European action first though - the Gunners against La Liga giants Barcelona tonight in the Champions League and United play Danish side FC Midtjylland as they hope to keep alive their Europa League hopes.

The 26-year-old Spaniard told Marca while speaking about Arsenal's midfield: "Arsenal have Francis Coquelin, Ozil... [But] Mesut isn't so consistent, although he makes the difference when he's on his day."

Herrera did speak highly of fellow Spaniard Santi Cazorla, who will not be fit to return from a knee injury in time for Sunday's match.

"It's a pity that Cazorlita will not be there, as he always makes the difference," Herrera said.

Assessing the Gunners chances against Barcelona tonight, Herrera said it would be more "evenly-matched" than in previous meetings between the pair.

"I think it's going to be harder for Barcelona this year," he said. "I think that Arsenal, aside from having some outstanding players, are brimming with self-confidence this season, both in the Premier League and the Champions League.

"That said, I think Barca are better. Not much better, but still better. It's going to be a great tie. I think it's going to be very evenly-matched.

"Barca switch between having the ball and playing without it. Arsenal like to dominate proceedings but are quick to break on the attack. That's why it's going to be a great game."
