Memphis Depay believes in himself. And others will too if he continues to score goals of the calibre of his first and second for Manchester United.

The Netherlands international arrived from PSV Eindhoven over the summer and the forward was quick to talk up his abilities and unafraid to show a little arrogance - particularly in his request for the famous number 7 jersey.

For a 21-year-old, that can be a risky approach.

But his goal in the Champions League play-off against Club Brugge to level the scores at 1-1 was brilliant - and his second was pretty special too.

Taking a quick pass from Michael Carrick with his back to goal, with one flick, Memphis had the ball over the head of a defender and was bearing down at goal. With three defenders in front of him and another couple nipping at his heels, the Dutchman meandered across the box before unleashing a low right-footed shot into the corner to open his account.

Before the first half was out, he had another. Cutting back onto his right foot, from just outside the box he curled it into the far corner.

Understandably, the internet reacted in a suitably impressed manner...
