Moratti: Ranieri backed for his 'common sense'

Internazionale president Massimo Moratti believes Claudio Ranieri's "common sense" approach is just what is needed to turn around the club's dreadful start to the season.

Ranieri was named Inter's new coach yesterday just a day after they dismissed Gian Piero Gasperini. Gasperini was only appointed in June but failed to win a game in a short but dismal spell and leaves with the club 15th in Serie A.

Ranieri will lead his players for the first time at Bologna tomorrow. Moratti said of him: "He is the best choice. I think he has the common sense needed to revitalise the team, both as individuals and as a unit."
