Real Madrid fans fined by Spanish government after attacking Gareth Bale's car following El Clasico defeat to Barcelona

Three men have also been banned from sporting stadiums for six months

Three Real Madrid fans who attacked players’ cars, including Gareth Bale’s, following the El Clasico defeat to Barcelona have been fined by a Spanish government commission.

The 2-1 defeat to the Catalan side last Sunday led to unpleasant scenes outside Real’s Valdebebas training ground as the squad made their way home. Along with Bale, Real forward Jese was also targeted as well as head coach Carlo Ancelotti, while defender Sergio Ramos stopped to speak to the unhappy fans that were attempting to punch and kick the cars as they departed.

A video soon emerged of Bale’s Bentley being attacked as he left the training ground and clearly showed the identity of the culprits, which the club used to track down the guilty fans a few days later.

The reigning European champions announced that they had identified one of the men involved as a member of the club and banned him from the Santiago Bernabeu pending a disciplinary hearing on whether to make the sanction permanent.

However, the Spanish government has now stepped in with their anti-violence in sport commission imposing a fine on the three men and has also issued a six-month fan from all sports stadiums.

Real will want to end the distractions off the field as soon as possible in the hope that they can get their La Liga title challenge back on track, having slipped four points behind Barcelona after a dramatic slump in form since the turn of the year.
