Dutch international Wesley Sneijder is seeking a move to the Premier League despite reportedly being close to a transfer to Turkey.

The Inter Milan playmaker has told his agent his preference remains a move to England following spells in the Netherlands, Spain and Italy.

Reports had suggested the likes of Arsenal, Manchester United, Manchester City, Chelsea and Tottenham had decided against making a move for the unsettled star due to his wage demands, despite being offered the player by his representatives.

Sneijder has been given 24 hours to decide if he wants to join Galatasaray, according to the Turkish club's director of sport.

Galatasaray director Bulent Tulun is said to have told Turkish radio station Radyospor: “Sneijder will give us a response inside 24 hours, but in 99 per cent of these cases the transfer negotiations are already done.”

Inter Milan president Massimo Moratti confirmed that an offer of €10million (£8.2million) from the Turkish giants had been accepted by the 2010 Serie A champions.

"Galatasaray's offer satisfies us. Now it depends on the player," Moratti told Sky Sports.

"We would be happy if he decided to stay on our terms."

According to a Turkish newspaper Sneijder can expect to earn €6million per year plus bonuses at Galatasaray.

Reports suggested that the Dutch international, who has not played for Inter since September, would leave due to a contract dispute with the Nerazzurri.

Sneijder's agent, Soren Lerby, would not comment on the proposed transfer, telling De Telegraaf: "Every day there is a new club linked with Wesley.

"For that reason I have decided not to answer any more questions."

A statement on the Turkish club's official website, galatasaray.org, read: "Galatasaray announces it has begun negotiations with FC Internazionale for the transfer of Wesley Sneijder.

"The public will be informed of developments."

Sneijder joined Inter in August 2009 for a fee of €15million and went on to win the Champions League trophy, Serie A title and Coppa Italia in his first season under the guidance of Jose Mourinho. Sneijder joined the Italian side following a two-year spell at Real Madrid, where he won the La Liga title in 2008, after a €27million move from Dutch giants Ajax in 2007.
