Jose Mourinho said his Chelsea players were allowed just 20 minutes to celebrate after their Capital One Cup final victory.

Chelsea saw off Tottenham with a goal from John Terry and a Kyle Walker own goal, having withstood a barrage of Spurs pressure for much of the game.

Mourinho, whose side are still fighting for the Premier League and Champions League trophies, will not allow complacency to set in with a midweek fixture away at West Ham to come.

"It's beautiful to be back at Wembley, but it will be 20 minutes of celebration, then back to training and we have a big game on Wednesday," he said.

"I'm really happy. I think I should start by talking about Tottenham and Mauricio because they are a fantastic team and he is building a great team.

"They gave us a fantastic match and I feel sorry for them because he is doing fantastic work."

Spurs were the better side for much of the game, but fell behind when Terry hammered home following a corner that wasn't cleared.

Diego Costa's shot then deflected off Walker to leave Spurs still searching for a first trophy since the 2008 League Cup, when they beat Avram Grant's Chelsea.
