This year's FA Cup semi-finals could have a distinctly North-South feel after yesterday's winners, Chelsea and Liverpool, were kept apart in the draw for the last four. Fresh from beating Leicester City, Chelsea were handed a tie with Tottenham – whom they host in the Premier League on Saturday – should Harry Redknapp's side overcome Bolton Wanderers in their rearranged sixth-round tie.

Liverpool, who made their first appearance at Wembley in 16 years in winning last month's League Cup, could face Merseyside neighbours Everton in the other tie, if David Moyes' side manage to dispose of Sunderland at the Stadium of Light in next Tuesday's replay.

Liverpool, installed as the favourites to win this year's competition, have beaten Everton in three of their previous four FA Cup semi-final meetings, the most recent being a 3-0 replay win at Maine Road in 1977.
