The Manchester clubs were kept apart in today's draw for the sixth round of the FA Cup with Sir Alex Ferguson's Premier League leaders handed a possible date with holders Chelsea in the last eight.

Should they overcome Reading in tonight's tie at Old Trafford, Manchester United will host the winners of next week's delayed fifth-round tie between Middlesbrough and holders Chelsea. The London side prevailed in a nine-goal Capital One Cup thriller with United earlier this season, and also won their last meeting with the club in the Cup, taking the 2007 final 1-0.

Roberto Mancini's Manchester City welcome Barnsley, currently on a run of seven wins in eight matches. Wigan Athletic, in the last eight for only the second time, will travel to the winners of next week's replay between Everton and Oldham, while there will be Championship representation at the Wembley semi-finals after Millwall were handed a home tie with Blackburn, the conquerors of Arsenal. Michael Appleton's side last made the last four in 2007 when they were beaten 2-1 by Chelsea.

FA cup sixth-round draw details

Oldham/Everton v Wigan

Manchester City v Barnsley

Man Utd/Reading v M'boro/Chelsea

Millwall v Blackburn

Ties to take place 9/10 March
