Manchester United manager Louis van Gaal has named a strong starting XI for the visit of Sheffield United in the FA Cup third round.,

First-team regulars Wayne Rooney, Anthony Martial, Juan Mata, Ander Herrera and Bastian Schweinsteiger all start at Old Trafford.

Despite entertaining League One opponents, Van Gaal isn’t taking any risks as he sends out a clear message about how much the competition means to him.

Sheffield United manager Nigel Adkins has Premier League experience in his side with Leicester loanee Dean Hammond in the centre of midfield.
