West Ham co-owners David Sullivan and David Gold plus vice-chairman Karren Brady will not be returning to former club Birmingham for tonight's Carling Cup semi-final clash.

Sullivan and Gold ended a 16-year reign at Birmingham last season when they sold their stake to Carson Yeung and then eventually took charge of the Hammers.

Gold was banned from attending the Barclays Premier League clash at St Andrew's earlier in the campaign after media comments.

He had already been cleared to attend tonight's clash after a subsequent apology but he, Sullivan and Brady will not be at St. Andrew's.

Sullivan said: "None of us will be going to the game.

"I really don't want to offend anyone by not going but I can't face doing that journey back if we lose.

"If it wasn't on TV, we would all be there 100%.

"But I've done that long journey six or seven hundred times and I can't face getting back at 2am feeling depressed if we have lost.

"I'll be partying at home with my kids, like every West Ham United fan, if we go through."
