Billy Davies, the Nottingham Forest manager, refused to get carried away as his side made it three wins from as many Championship games following a 3-0 win over promotion rivals Bolton on Saturday.

"There are still plenty of points to play for," Davies said. "We have made a good start. But what does that mean? There is a long way to go. We have still got to gel this team together, we have new players to introduce. We will keep encouraging them to do the right things."

Watford lost their 100 per cent record, but manager Gianfranco Zola was still full of praise for his side as they came from behind to draw 3-3 at Reading.

Zola said: "It pleased me that we never gave up. That is the good thing about this side, sides can score one or two goals against us but we will not be beaten easily."

Eddie Howe was equally delighted with his Bournemouth side as they edged out 10-man Wigan 1-0. "It is a big scalp," said Howe. "To beat the FA Cup holders at full strength cannot be underestimated."
