The Burnley chairman, Barry Kilby, has said that a battle with cancer is behind his decision to stand down. Kilby will end his 13-year stint as chairman of the Championship club in May but will stay on the board.

"I've been diagnosed with cancer so obviously it's going to be a big change in my life to deal with, so it was the right time to take stock and step down as chairman," Kilby said.
