Championship round-up: Hudson hauls Cardiff up to the summit
Cardiff City moved to the top of the Championship last night, taking full advantage of previous leaders Brighton's draw at home to Ipswich Town with a 2-1 win over Birmingham City.
Craig Bellamy gave Cardiff the lead eight minutes before half-time but Leroy Lita, on loan from Swansea, brought the visitors level before a close-range Mark Hudson finish took Malky Mackay's team to the top.
Brighton were looking at a second consecutive defeat at the Amex Stadium, losing 1-0 to struggling Ipswich before Will Buckley rescued a point with 10 minutes to go.
Leicester City are up to second in the table, the France Under-21 midfielder Anthony Knockaert scoring both their goals in a 2-0 win at Huddersfield, the first a cracker from 30 yards. That did not stop rumours circulating that Leicester are willing to sack manager Nigel Pearson and replace him with Harry Redknapp.
