League Two fixtures 2015/16: Teddy Sheringham gets Stevenage career underway against Notts County as Leyton Orient face Barnet

Bristol Rovers host Northampton on their return to the Football League while Paul Cook's Portsmouth reign begins with the visit of Dagenham

Teddy Sheringham's managerial career gets under way as his Stevenage side welcome Notts County on the opening day of the 2015/16 Sky Bet League Two campaign.

The former England international replaced Graham Westley at Broadhall Way as he dips his toe into management for the first time aged 49 and Ricardo Moniz's relegated Magpies provide the opposition on August 8.

Leyton Orient, who were 45 minutes away from the Championship at the end of the 2013/14 season, begin life in the bottom tier with new boss Ian Hendon coming up against his former club Barnet, winners of the Vanarama Conference last season.

Fellow promoted side Bristol Rovers, back in the Football League after a year away, host Northampton while Paul Cook's Portsmouth reign begins with the visit of Dagenham.

There is a West Country derby as relegated Yeovil head to Exeter, Terry Butcher begins life at Newport with a trip to Cambridge and Derek Adams' reign at Plymouth starts with a trip to AFC Wimbledon.

Hartlepool host Morecambe, Mansfield welcome Carlisle and Crawley, looking to bounce back from relegation last season, start at Oxford.

Wycombe's clash with York completes the opening day programme.

There's an early local derby for Notts County, among the favourites for promotion, as they host Mansfield in their first home game of the season on August 15, the same day Yeovil and Bristol Rovers do battle at Huish Park.

Only the diehards from Carlisle will be travelling to Plymouth on August 18, a midweek fixture, as the 780-mile round-trip is the longest away journey in the entire Football League.

All eyes will be on Fratton Park on October 20 as Sheringham returns to the club he served as a player during his illustrious career. The striker scored 10 goals in 38 appearances for Pompey in the 2003/04 campaign.

Martin Allen, who guided Barnet to promotion last season, will have November 24 highlighted on the calendar as he takes his side to former club Notts County, while Luton visit Cambridge on September 5.

Gary Johnson's Yeovil face a short trip to Plymouth in one of the stand-out fixtures on Boxing Day, while Portsmouth's trip to Leyton Orient could be a battle between two promotion chasers.

Hartlepool's fans, famous for dressing up on their final away trip of the campaign, will not be thanking for fixture computer as they face the daunting trip to Plymouth on the final day on May 7.

Pompey will hope to be celebrating promotion against Northampton at Fratton Park, while last season's beaten play-off finalists Wycombe make the short journey up the M40 to face Oxford.

There is a trip to Yeovil for Leyton Orient, Notts County host former boss Keith Curle's Carlisle, Luton welcome Exeter and Bristol Rovers are paired at home to Dagenham.

Sheringham's first campaign will end at Accrington, AFC Wimbledon host Newport, Crawley face Barnet, it is Mansfield against Cambridge and York make the trip to Morecambe.
