Nile Ranger has admitted he is “BAFFFED” by Blackpool’s decision to release 17 players yet trigger an extension clause in his contract to keep him at the club for another year.

That’s right, BAFFFED. The former Newcastle striker took to his Instagram page to reveal his shock at the Seasiders’ decision to keep him on the books at Bloomfield Road despite not playing for Blackpool since November.

Furthermore, it’s believed that Ranger has not even been seen at the club since December and is currently on a pay-as-you-play deal that sees him earn the minimum wage as a basic salary.

With Blackpool suffering relegation from the Championship this season and the embarrassment of having their final match called off due to a fan protest that saw a large group of disgruntled supporters storm the pitch during the 0-0 draw with Huddersfield.

With the BBC running the story that Blackpool have released an incredible 17 players – leaving them with just eight players under contract – it echoes the start of the season when Blackpool had a similar squad size on the eve of the Championship curtain-raiser.

Posting a picture of the story on his Instagram account, Ranger added the caption: “Face says it ALL! #BAFFFED.”

Yep, we’re bafffed too.
