Port Vale heading for administration
Port Vale's biggest creditor, Stoke City Council, confirmed yesterday that Her Majesty's Revenue and Customs had issued a winding-up petition against the club, according to BBC Radio Stoke.
League Two side Vale are edging closer to administration after it emerged that the club had sought more than £300,000 from the council to try and stay afloat. The club have informed the players they were unable to pay their wages this month. Defender Gareth Owen said: "It's terrible. We don't see any light at the end of the tunnel."
