Arsene Wenger moved for Danny Welbeck on transfer deadline day but he might have saved himself £16m.

Olivier Giroud left Arsenal looking light up front after an ankle injury ruled him out until at least December.

The injury forced Wenger into buying England striker Welbeck from Manchester United, but the French boss should have looked in his squad for a replacement.

Yaya Sanogo, who was criticised for his poor performance during the 1-1 draw with Leicester, was on target twice for France Under-21s during a 5-1 victory against Kazakhstan.

The raw 21-year old scored his first after his shot was deflected, then raced through on goal ahead to nip in ahead of the goalkeeper and provide a nice finish past a lunging defender.

Who needs Danny Welbeck?
