The Football Association has moved to clarify why there will not be any reference of the Paris terror attacks in tonight’s programme for England vs France, citing that the edition was sent to be printed before Friday’s horrifying attacks.

The FA has been active in organising a number of acts and tributes in memory of the 129 people that died in several attacks across Paris in what was claimed to be a terrorist attack by Isis members.

English fans will join their French counterparts in singing La Marseillaise, while the Wembley arch will be lit up in blue, white and red to represent the Tricolor. The French message “Liberte, Egalite, Fraternite” will also be displayed on LED screens as fans walk along Wembley Way.

However, there will be no mention in the programme of the attacks that have shocked the world, and the FA have moved to apologise if “any content is deemed inappropriate” by fans visiting the match tonight.

“Print deadlines mean tonight's programme does not refer to the tragic events in Paris,” the FA confirmed on Twitter. “We apologise if any content is deemed inappropriate.”

The FA has been praised for the way it has acted in the aftermath of the attacks, as they gave the French Football Federation the choice of cancelling the match or going ahead as planned – with FFF president Noël Le Graët choosing to give the match the green light in an act of defiance against the terrorists responsible for Friday’s attacks.
