The wait is over. This summer's European Championships begin tonight when host nation France take on Romania at the Stade de France.

Didier Deschamps' side are one of the favourites to win the tournament and Paul Pogba, the Juventus midfielder and Manchester United transfer target, is expected to star.

Romania, meanwhile, will be hoping to emerge from this difficult opening Group A fixture with enough reason to believe that they can reach the competition's knock-out stage.

Vlad Chiriches, the former Tottenham Hotspur defender, captains Anghel Iordănescu's men.
