Neymar will find out later today the severity of his ban following the Brazil forward's red card after the final whistle as the Selecao were defeated by 1-0 Colombia in the Copa America group stage.

It was Brazil's first loss to Colombia in 24 years.

Neymar's yellow card earlier in the match was his second of the tournament, which was already enough to suspend him from the final group match.

The Barcelona forward kicked a ball at Pablo Armero in frustration, aimed a headbutt at goalscorer Jeison Murillo before Colombia's Carlos Bacca was also sent off for a retaliatory shove on the Selecao captain.

A melee then ensued before the players were eventually separated.

"Colombia showed that it is a very experienced team," Brazil coach Dunga said. "Our players at times got caught in their provocations and forgot to play football. Brazil has to play football. Brazil can't go to war, we have to focus on what we do best, which is play football."

Murillo scored the only goal of the game in the 36th-minute.
