Northern Ireland's qualifier against Russia put on ice once again
Northern Ireland's World Cup Group F qualifier against Russia was postponed for the second time in 24 hours as the Windsor Park pitch in Belfast was again judged unplayable yesterday. The match was the highest-profile victim as bad weather hit football across the country with four games in League One and six in League Two also called off.
One match played came at Scunthorpe where a David Mirfin own goal, and strikes by Iain Hume and Chris Brown saw League One leaders Doncaster Rovers win 3-2 to open up a five-point lead over Swindon Town, who moved up to second after a 0-0 draw with visitors Notts County.
