Wales could secure automatic qualification from Group B with a home win over Israel and reach a first major International tournament for 58 years. There are plenty of good omens for Chris Coleman’s side as a victory over the Israelis helped the Welsh qualify in 1958.

Israel arriving in Cardiff still able to qualify after a 4-0 home victory over bottom side Andorra on Thursday, but previously lost 2-0 to Wales in March thanks to a brace from Gareth Bale.

Ahead of the match, Coleman said: "My message to the fans is 'just stay with us'.

"In Cyprus it was 0-0 with about 10 minutes to go and maybe certain people were thinking maybe we should be one or two goals up by now. But it doesn't work like that.

"If we were playing Andorra it would be a game we would be expected to win and then our job's probably done and dusted.

"But I'm glad it's Israel and we're up against a strong team who are playing for something themselves."

TV Sky Sports 1

Kick-off 5pm
