Here is a video of Wayne Rooney scoring from the penalty spot in the 2-0 Euro 2016 qualifying win over Switzerland to become England's record goalscorer, as filmed by David Beckham.

England's most capped outfield player was at Wembley Stadium last night to witness Rooney's historic moment, as his son Romeo was a mascot.

Like many of the crowd at the national stadium, Beckham decided to take out his phone and take a video of the moment.

Beckham, who won 115 caps for England between 1996-2009, wrote alongside the video, which he posted on Instagram:

"50 goals for England and many more to come from our captain… Always wants to win and plays with passion."

After the match, Rooney delivered a heartfelt speech after breaking Sir Bobby Charlton's record.

Rooney was presented with a commemorative shirt by England manager Roy Hodgson in the changing room after the game and made a short speech to his team-mates. In a video of the speech released by the FA, Rooney said: “Hopefully for the team and for myself there will be a lot more to come, we can be successful and hopefully a lot of the younger lads - Harry [Kane] coming through, Ross [Barkley], Raheem [Sterling], can come close and even pass me in the future. So I am grateful, it means the world to me and thank you very much.”
