Barcelona and Spain defender Jordi Alba threatened a journalist after the victory over Australia telling him: "I'll rip your head off".

Alba threatened AS reporter Javier Gomez Matallanas in the mixed zone after the 3-0 victory, according to the Guardian.

The reporter expressed his surprise but Alba added: "Yes, yes, next time... I'm warning you."

The confrontation continued as the team boarded their flight with Alba again on the attack, this time accusing Matallanas of being a grass.

Speaking to Onda Cero radio before the second incident, Mantallas said: "I have no idea why.

"I have not written anything about him. I don’t remember writing anything about him at all."
