GOAL! Tottenham 3-1 Aston Villa (Kane)
90 minutes
Brilliant from Kane! He's been frustrated, kept relatively quiet for much of this game, but he's still managed to score twice. Sissoko powers through midfield, breezing past the tired Villa players. He slides the ball to Kane, who slots the ball expertly into the far corner to seal the win.
Tottenham 3-1 Aston Villa
90+1 minutes
Three minutes of added time will be played.
Full time: That's it! Spurs come from behind to win. For long periods of this game, Villa appeared to be on course for a battling, resolute victory. It would have been some achievement, but they couldn't quite hold on to their narrow lead. Ndombele's debut goal, followed by Kane's quickfire brace, gives Tottenham victory on the opening day.
Tottenham are difficult to stop when they get going. That's what Villa discovered in the second half here. The hosts were inhibited, tentative in their approach for most of the first half. And the visitors defended superbly.
But Spurs were a different beast after the break. They played with a confidence, a self-assurance that comes from previous experience. They have been in similar situations before, and won. And, thanks to Kane's late double, that is what they did again.
Tottenham start with a win, then, but there are positive signs, too, for Villa.
